Pune: Union Minister Narayan Rane Calls for Legal Action Against Prakash Ambedkar
Pune, 30th November 2023: In a recent development, Indian Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Narayan Rane has raised questions about how Prakash Ambedkar, leader of the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA), was allegedly aware of the possibility of riots in Maharashtra. Minister Rane, during an interaction with reporters as part of the Bharat Vikas Sankalp Yatra, not only questioned Ambedkar’s knowledge but also demanded that legal action be taken against him.
Rane asserted that withholding information about potential riots is a criminal act, urging authorities to register a case against Prakash Ambedkar and subsequently arrest him. The minister’s statement comes in the wake of alleged information shared by Ambedkar, predicting a heightened risk of riots in the state after December 3, following assembly elections in four states.
Expressing scepticism, Minister Rane insisted that those making such claims should provide substantial evidence to support their assertions. He emphasized the importance of knowing specifics such as who might be involved and where these potential riots could occur. Rane contended that failure to disclose such critical information should be treated as a crime, prompting the demand for legal action against Prakash Ambedkar.
Meanwhile, concerns about a potential riot situation in various parts of Maharashtra have led to heightened vigilance, with police stations being put on alert.
