Pune: PM Modi’s Accusations of Rs 70,000 Crore Corruption by NCP Met with Sharp Response from Sharad Pawar

Pune, 29th June 2023: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing BJP booth workers in Bhopal, leveled serious allegations of corruption amounting to Rs 70,000 crore against the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). He called upon BJP workers to uncover more scams and escalate the NCP’s “scam meter.”

In a press conference held in Pune today, NCP supremo Sharad Pawar responded to the allegations. Pawar denied any involvement in the Shikhar Bank scandal, emphasizing that he is not a member of any cooperative bank. He highlighted that during the inquiry into Shikhar Bank, names of individuals associated with both NCP and BJP were mentioned. Pawar questioned the actions taken by the BJP-led state government during that time, pointing out that Devendra Fadnavis was the Chief Minister.

Mocking Modi’s accusations, Pawar stated that the attack seemed driven by desperation and frustration, possibly triggered by disappointment over recent events such as the US tour and the domestic situation.
