Maharashtra Political Crisis: 42 MLAs Seen With Eknath Shinde In Guwahati
Mumbai, 23rd June 2022: Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde along with several other rebel MLAs was seen camping in Assam’s capital Guwahati, which is ruled by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
A video shows 42 rebel MLAs including 35 from Shiv Sena and 7 Independent MLAs raising slogans together at Radisson Blu Hotel in Guwahati. The rebel attitude of the MLAs has increased the concern of Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.
Last night he left the CM’s government bungalow and shifted to his ancestral home, Matoshree. The Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance of the state is making every effort to bring back the MLAs. During his address yesterday, Thackeray offered to give up the post of CM and the responsibility of Shiv Sena chief. He even offered Shinde to become the CM. At the same time, BJP is keeping a close watch on these rebel MLAs.
Shiv Sena MP made a big claim
Shiv Sena MP Vinayak Raut has claimed that around 18 MLAs from Guwahati have approached Shiv Sena leaders from Mumbai and they will return soon. At the same time, sources close to Uddhav Thackeray said that 13 MLAs are still with Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and they are in constant touch.
BJP rises in camp, posters put up to make Fadnavis CM
In Maharashtra, there has been an uproar in the BJP amid the revolt in Shiv Sena. Some banners have been put up in Aurangabad on behalf of the supporters of former CM Devendra Fadnavis, in which he is expected to become the CM.
BJP put up a poster in Aurangabad which read, “Goddess Mauli, may your blessings continue to be upon us and Devendra Ji come to offer prayers to you in Pandharpur, after becoming the CM.”
