IIT Dharwad Inaugurated By PM Modi

Dharwad, 13th March 2023: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Dharwad’s newest campus was inaugurated on Sunday (March 12) by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In February 2019, he laid the foundation stone for the same.

The institute, which was built at a cost of over Rs 850 crores, currently offers M.Tech., Ph.D., and inter-disciplinary 5-year BS-MS programs in addition to 4-year B.Tech. programs.

The Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India, founded IIT Dharwad in 2016 as an Institution of National Importance under the guidance of IIT Bombay.

The Dharwad Bench of the Karnataka High Court is near the Water and Land Management Institute (WALMI), where academic activities at IIT Dharwad began in July 2016.

With 856 students, 73 faculty members, more than 400 publications, 30 crores in R&D sponsored projects, and 32 MoUs to its collective credit, IIT Dharwad has consistently advanced.
