Hope Prime Minister Narendra Modi Will Be Successful In Ending Russia-Ukraine War: Dr Farooq Abdullah

Delhi, 21st November 2022: National Conference chief and former Chief Minister Dr Farooq Abdullah said that he is hopeful that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be successful in ending the nine-month-long Russia-Ukraine war. This war has wreaked havoc on the economic condition of the whole world.

Talking to reporters in Jammu on Monday, Dr Farooq also expressed happiness over India getting the presidency of the G20 summit. He also said there may be pressure on India from the countries involved in G20. This statement of Dr Farooq came after the release of the G-20 in Bali, in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s message to Russian President Vladimir Putin said that today’s era is not of war.

The official statement of the G20 states that it is imperative to uphold international law and the multilateral system that safeguards peace and stability. It includes defending all the purposes and principles enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations and upholding international humanitarian law, including security. The use or threat of use of nuclear weapons is unacceptable. Peaceful resolution of conflicts, efforts to resolve crises, and diplomatic dialogue is important. Today’s era should not be about war.

The National Conference chief also took a dig at Home Minister Amit Shah’s statement that he would talk to Kashmiri youth instead of Pakistan. Dr Farooq said our fight is with Pakistan and not with the youth. That’s why talk should be done with the neighbouring country. It is also said that whatever problems we have with our neighbouring countries, the countries may also find a solution for it. He said- I am tired of saying to hold talks with Pakistan. India will have to talk to Pakistan at some point in time.
