FIR Filed Against Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje Over Bombing Allegations: Madurai Cyber Crime Police Takes Action
Chennai, 20th March 2024: The Madurai City Cyber Crime Police filed an FIR against Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje for alleging that a person from Tamil Nadu was responsible for planting a bomb in Bengaluru’s Rameswaram Cafe. This action followed a complaint by Thiyagarajan. Shobha Karandlaje, Union Minister of State for Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, alleged that the perpetrator of the Rameshwaram blasts underwent training in the forests of Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu, suggesting it occurred “under your (Stalin’s) watch.”
In a widely circulated video on social media, Shobha stated, “People from Tamil Nadu come here, get trained there, and plant bombs here. They placed a bomb in the cafe,” referencing the bomb blast at Bengaluru’s Rameshwaram Cafe on March 1. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin denounced her remarks and urged legal action against the central minister, labelling her claims as “reckless.” Stalin emphasized that only an NIA official or someone closely connected to the case should make any statements.
Shobha retaliated against the CM, accusing him of allowing radical elements to target Hindus and BJP workers due to his appeasement politics. She insisted that the Rameshwaram bomber was trained in Krishnagiri forests under Stalin’s administration. Later, Karandlaje apologized to the “Tamil brothers and sisters,” expressing regret that her words had caused pain and reiterating that her remarks were solely directed towards those trained in the Krishnagiri forest. She asked for forgiveness and retracted her previous comments.
