Effects Of Changing Bihar Politics Reaches Maharashtra
Mumbai, 11th August 2022: The effect of the change in Bihar’s politics is also being seen in Maharashtra. The Nationalist Congress Party of Sharad Pawar has expressed its desire to continue the Maha Vikas Aghadi. NCP leaders have also met Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray regarding this matter. In Bihar, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has separated from the NDA and formed a new alliance, which includes Rashtriya Janata Dal, Congress, Hindustani Awam Morcha, and others.
On Wednesday, senior NCP leaders met Thackeray. Leaders like Leader of Opposition Ajit Pawar, State President Jayant Patil, and former ministers Chhagan Bhujwal and Sunil Tatakare were present. These leaders discussed for about an hour at Thackeray’s official residence, Matoshree. Notably, there was no contact between NCP and Shiv Sena since Thackeray’s resignation.
A senior leader said on the condition of anonymity, “The NCP leadership is of the view that Thackeray needs to understand why his unity is essential for his survival.” “The law battle is likely to be a long one, but if all three parties stay together and fight the elections together, the political gains in the state will also be in their favor,” he said.
He further added that with Nitish Kumar joining the opposition parties, the political picture has changed at the national level as well. If all opposition parties come together, things can change. In 2019, Shiv Sena, NCP, and Congress formed the Maha Vikas Aghadi Government, but the government fell after the rebellion of the MLAs in Shiv Sena.
