ED Raids Houses Of Congress Leaders In Chhattisgarh, They React
Chhattisgarh, 20th February 2023: The Congress party fiercely attacked the central government regarding the ED raid on the houses of Chhattisgarh Congress leaders. Congress leader Jairam Ramesh took a dig at the BJP and PM Modi. He said that the example of politics of vengeance and harassment was seen in Raipur this morning. He said, “Congress party session is going to be held in Chhattisgarh, and just three days before that, ED raids have taken place”.
Jairam Ramesh further said that the Prime Minister does not use ED where needed. “They have a Fair and Lovely scheme. Those on whom action was taken by ED in the past became innocent after joining BJP.” In the Rajya Sabha, the Congress President called the BJP a washing machine, but it was later removed from the proceedings.
The Congress leader said, “I do not know how long the raids will continue. This action has given us a booster dose to be more aggressive against the Prime Minister and his third-rate politics of vendetta and harassment.”
At the same time, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel attacked the central government. “Today the ED has raided the houses of many of my colleagues, including the treasurer of the Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee, the former vice-president of the party and an MLA. After four days, there is a Congress convention in Raipur. Our spirits cannot be broken by stopping our comrades engaged in preparations like this.”
He further said that the success of ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ and the disclosure of Adani’s truth made the BJP desperate. “This raid is an attempt to divert attention. The country knows the truth. We will fight and win.”
Along with this, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge also commented on the government. He said that in the raids conducted by ED in the last nine years, 95% are of opposition leaders, and most have been against Congress leaders. He said, “The raid on our Congress leaders of Chhattisgarh by the Modi government by misusing the ED shows the cowardice of the BJP before the Congress convention in Raipur. We are not going to be cowed down by these cowardly threats. Due to the huge success of the Bharat Jodo Yatra, the uneasiness of the BJP is visible. If PM Modi has an iota of honesty, then raid his best friend’s mega scams. We will firmly face this attempt to crush democracy.”
