Dr. Keshavrao Dhondge dedicated his life for workers and laborers: CM
Mumbai, 24th Aug 2022: Senior Freedom Fighter and centenarian Dr. Keshavrao Dhondge dedicated his life in solving the issues of laborers, workers and the poor sections, mentioned Chief Minister Eknath Shinde in the Vidhan Sabha today and prayed for his long life. Dhondge completed 100 years of his life and entered the 101st year.
Senior Freedom Fighter, former MP and MLA Dr. Bhai Keshavraoji Shankarrao Dhondge was honored in the Vidhan Sabha today for his parliamentary and social work on the occasion of completing a century today. Speaking on this occasion Chief Minister Eknath Shinde eulogized his services, commitment and dedication to the working class and the poor and neglected sections of the society.
On this occasion Speaker Adv. Rahul Narvekar, Leader of Opposition Ajit Pawar, Balasaheb Thorat, Bhaskarrao Jadhav, Shyamsundar Shinde, Haribhau Bagde and other MLAs also expressed their views in honor of Dr. Dhondge.
Chief Minister Shinde said that Dr. Dhondge organized many agitations for the just demands of the people. He demanded that both the Houses of legislature should begin their business with chanting of Vande Matarm and it his demand was accepted and accordingly from December 1990 the business of both the Houses began with Vande Mataram. He took efforts for establishment of independent board for development of Marathwada, and creation of Loha taluka. He also made special efforts for getting reservation for wards of freedom fighters in government jobs.
He was instrumental in getting the demands like ST Depot in Nanded district, unveiling portrait of Mahatma Jyotiba Fule in the Central Hall of Vidhan Sabha, publication of entire literature of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar by the government and so on, fulfilled by the government, He has shown the way to get various socially useful works using various legislative and parliamentary instruments and provisions. Dr. Dhondge besides being a successful politician and social activist, is a journalist and a litterateur, the Chief Minister said.
