Don’t Allow People From Outside To Impose CAA, NRC On You: Mamata Banerjee At Meghalaya Election Rally

Shillong, 22nd February 2023: West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at an election rally in Meghalaya. She said on Wednesday that her party would not allow people from outside to implement the CAA and NRC on the residents of the northeastern state.

During this, she also accused the Conrad Sangma government in the state of “not doing development work” in the state and being involved in a “scam”.

Banerjee said at an election rally in Meghalaya, “Don’t allow people coming from outside to impose CAA, NRC on you. TMC can develop Meghalaya…change this government…there is nothing here..no medical college, no good health system for treatment, and no development, but a scam.”

During this, Mamta Banerjee appealed to the people to vote for her party.

West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee said, “Vote for TMC in Meghalaya; we will oust BJP from Delhi.”

The Election Commission of India has deployed 119 troops of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) in Meghalaya for the smooth conduct of the assembly elections scheduled for 27h February in the state. Meghalaya Chief Electoral Officer FR Kharkongor told news agency ANI that in terms of law and order, there are 119 troops.

Meghalaya CEO said, “We had 40 troops which were deployed earlier and another 79 troops were inducted after the Tripura elections. There has been no law and order incident. Unfortunately, a candidate from the Sohyeong constituency passed away. We have sent information to the Election Commission.”
