Deputy CM Ajit Pawar: No Blame on Hospital or Police, Assures Tough Measures in Lalit Patil Case
Pune, 25th November 2023: Amidst the political exchanges following the escape of drug trafficker Lalit Patil from Sassoon Hospital, NCP leader and Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra Ajit Pawar inspected the Shivajinagar metro station. When questioned about the Lalit Patil case during the inspection, Pawar asserted that severe punishment awaits those found guilty in the matter. He emphasized that neither Sassoon Hospital officials nor the police administration would be blamed for the escape.
Expressing concern about the detrimental impact of drug mafias on the younger generation, Pawar advocated for changes in the law, specifically suggesting the imposition of the death penalty for such offenders. Additionally, he called for strict actions against those who engage in adulterating various products, including milk and paneer.
While highlighting the need for stringent measures, Pawar instructed officials to ensure that incidents similar to the escape from Sassoon Hospital do not recur in the future.
