Congress Makes Big Promises In Gujarat; To Waive Farmer’s Loans &Free Education To Girls If Voted To Power

Ahmedabad, 13th August 2022: Congress has made a big announcement, before the assembly elections in Gujarat. On Friday, the party promised that if voted to power in Gujarat, it would waive off farmers’ loans of up to Rs 3 lakh and provide them free electricity for 10 hours a day.

 

The assembly elections are due in the state later this year. Gujarat Congress president Jagdish Thakor said his party would bring a law to ban the purchase of agricultural produce below the minimum support price (MSP).

 

In a press conference, Congress state president Jagdish Thakor and former minister Bharat Singh Solanki said that a decision to waive farmers’ loans would be taken in the first cabinet meeting. Apart from this, a plan will be made to reduce or remove the GST which is levied on essential fertilizers, seeds etc. for farmers.

 

The benefits of the schemes which are being received by the farmers of Congress-ruled states, will be given here after the formation of the government in Gujarat. Free education will be given to the girls of the state.
