CM Mamata Banerjee Says, “West Bengal Government Committed TO Development And Growth”
Kolkata, 10th January 2023: On Monday (January 9), while addressing delegates from around the world at the G-20 summit’s opening ceremony, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee remarked that women are given more importance in their government.
She said that her government provides free education for girls up to the university level. She also added that her government also supported the growth and had put in place several programmes for citizens, farmers, and MSMEs.
CM Banerjee said, “West Bengal has several programmes for community development. The formation of numerous Self Help Groups (SHGs) has helped women become independent. Our government has added 12 million jobs and improved our GDP.”
The chief minister also mentioned that West Bengal’s unemployment rate had decreased at a time when it was rising nationally.
She continued, “A government cannot function if it has no human face. The world cannot progress without the advancement of humans. Despite variations in language, caste, and religion, the people of West Bengal remain together. We value harmony.”
