Centre Orders Blocking Of Tweets, Videos Sharing BBC’s Documentary On PM Modi

New Delhi, 21st January 2023: According to sources, the Centre has instructed Twitter and YouTube to remove links to a BBC documentary about Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the 2002 Gujarat riots called “India: The Modi Question.”

A few of the documentary’s tweets and YouTube videos are no longer viewable on microblogging and video-sharing platforms.

On Friday (January 20), the BBC defended its series on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a day after the Indian government denounced it as a “propaganda piece” lacking objectivity, as a “rigorously researched” documentary that aimed to highlight significant concerns.

According to a BBC representative, the documentary was well-researched to the highest editorial standards.
