Pune, 16th February 2023: During the by-election campaign for the Chinchwad assembly constituency in Pune district, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has faced a setback as a key leader, Tushar Kamthe, resigned from the party. Kamthe, who is a member of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation and considered close to BJP MLA Laxman Jagtap, had been actively campaigning for the party. However, he announced his resignation from the BJP on Tuesday, which has been viewed as a significant blow to the party’s campaign for the by-election.
The by-election for the Chinchwad assembly constituency is scheduled for February 27, and the BJP has fielded Snehal Jagtap, the daughter-in-law of former MLA Laxman Jagtap, as their candidate.
