Assam: Best Performing Schools Awarded With With Incentive By State Government

Guwahati, 26th December 2022: Assam’s state education department conducted an annual evaluation program called “Gunotsav,” and the top-performing schools have received awards and incentives from the Assam government.
4,841 schools in total received A+ ratings in the most recent Gunotsav review. A financial incentive of Rs 25,000 has been given to each of these schools.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated that the Gunotsav Award for this year is being presented to the winning schools to coincide with the nationwide celebration of “Good Governance Day” on December 25 as a tribute to the late former prime minister Atal Vihari Vajpayee.
Sarma described Gunotsav as a process of continuous evaluation that enables the stakeholders to focus on the strong as well as the weak points as far as the imparting of education is concerned. Gunotsav was mentioned by Sarma as an alternative method to the traditional system of written examination to measure the quality of education in schools.
