Aditya Thackeray Puts Forth Proof From RTI Regarding Transfer Of Projects From Maharashtra To Gujarat
Mumbai, 29th November 2022: For the past few days, there has been criticism that major projects have gone from Maharashtra to other states. While the opposition, especially the Thackeray group, has besieged the ruling party over the issue, the ruling Shinde group and the BJP have denied the claims. It is being claimed by the Shinde group and BJP that all these projects went out of the state during the Maha Vikas Aghadi government. Against this backdrop, Thackeray group MLA Aditya Thackeray made a big claim in a press conference held in Mumbai. He read out a letter obtained by RTI in the press conference.
“In the last several days, different actions of power are being shown without answering questions. The agriculture minister abuses women, and no ear is pierced by the chief minister anywhere. No action is taken. No help has reached the farmers. There are only announcements upon announcements,” said Aditya Thackeray.
Meanwhile, the Vedanta project has gone to a less developed state than Maharashtra, and these projects also face difficulties in such states, said Aditya Thackeray. “I want to give you information about Vedanta Foxconn. I came to know from Twitter that the Vedanta Foxconn project went to Gujarat. It can go to any state. But, when the project that was supposed to come to us goes to the neighbouring state, that industry also suffers. A project that can be started in two-three years takes six-seven years”, said Aditya Thackeray.
“The Chief Minister-Deputy Chief Minister made announcements in this regard. But when we raised the issue, we were told that we were lying. It was said that the projects went to neighbouring states during the MVA government’s tenure,” he said.
Meanwhile, Aditya Thackeray presented the same letter written by the Shinde government to the chairman of Vedanta Foxconn to make an MoU at the press conference. “After a month and a half, we got a reply. 100 per cent of this project was supposed to come from Maharashtra. I have brought proof of this. If this project went to Gujarat during the Maha Vikas Aghadi government, how did it reach this level?” Aditya Thackeray asked.
“I have the letter dated September 5, 2022. It was written by the then-CEO of MIDC. It was sent to Anil Aggarwal, chairman of Vedanta Foxconn. The subject was regarding MoU between the state government and Vedanta. Till then, a transaction comes, which means that everything is decided. Only cabinet approval is pending,” he explained.
