Shashi Tharoor Responds to Viral Photos with Mahua Moitra, Calls it Low Level Politics

Thiruvananthapuram, 23rd October 2023: Photos of Congress Lok Sabha MP from Thiruvananthapuram, Shashi Tharoor, posing with Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra have recently gone viral. Tharoor has now addressed the situation, calling it “low-level politics” and stating that the pictures were taken at a birthday celebration and are being misrepresented.

Speaking to the media in Kottayam, Kerala, Tharoor said the viral photos were taken at a party celebrating Mahua Moitra’s birthday. “The pictures are being touted as evidence of a secret meeting, which is entirely false,” said the Congress MP. He added that Moitra is considerably younger than him and he sees her “as a child.” The gathering had 15 attendees, including Tharoor’s sister.

Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra also responded to the controversy, targeting the BJP for circulating the photos without providing any context. She affirmed that the pictures were being misrepresented to serve political agendas.

Shashi Tharoor further stated that he doesn’t give much importance to online trolls. “My priority is to work for the people,” he said, underlining his commitment to his constituents rather than engaging in social media spats.
