Maharashtra govt strengthens district rural development authorities with new office in Pune

Pune, 1st May 2023: The Pune District Rural Development Authority (DRDA) has announced the inauguration of its new office on the second floor of the Zilha Parishad building, opposite Bundgarden police station, in Pune. The new office has been constructed after extensive repairs of the space previously occupied by the Collector’s Office.

All departments of the DRDA, including the Livelihoods Mission, Housing Schemes, Swachh Bharat Mission, and Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, have been shifted to the new office in accordance with the instructions from the Maharashtra state government.

Ayush Prasad, CEO of Pune Zilha Parishad, said that the new premises will provide a comfortable working environment for all staff in DRDA’s department and all departments in Zilha Parishad. With new recruitment expected under MahaBharthi, the new office will provide more space to keep files and make it easier for visitors to move around offices.

The new office is equipped with all necessary facilities such as a video conferencing setup, a large hall for meetings, office space, a pantry, toilet, and water facilities. The Project Director is an Additional Chief Executive Officer official.

The inauguration of the new office is a significant step towards strengthening the district rural development authorities in line with the state government’s instructions. The DRDA is looking forward to welcoming visitors to its new office and utilizing the space to its full potential.
