Himachal Pradesh, 10th December 2022: The Congress Legislature Party meeting in Himachal Pradesh will be held at 4 pm in the Vidhansabha Bhawan. The tussle between the Congress leaders over the post of Chief Minister (CM) continues. However, according to sources, Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu may become the new Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh. It can be announced around 6 pm. Meanwhile, Himachal Pradesh Congress chief Pratibha Virbhadra Singh, Congress leader Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu and other party leaders held talks with each other ahead of the Congress Legislature Party meeting. According to the information, the Congress has sought an appointment at Raj Bhavan at 5 pm.
On Friday night, a resolution was unanimously passed by the newly elected MLAs regarding the post of CM in Himachal, in which the Congress’s high command was authorized to elect the CM. However, after this, the tussle over the post of Chief Minister continues on Saturday as well.
From Saturday morning, Congress MLAs started reaching Cecil Hotel in Shimla. The party’s central observers, including Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, are staying at the Cecil Hotel. The Congress has got a clear mandate in Himachal, but it is still finding it difficult to fill the void created by the death of six-time chief minister Virbhadra Singh and reach a consensus on the leader of the legislature party who will become the chief minister.
The Congress high command is going to take the final decision regarding the CM. Meanwhile, state in-charge Rajeev Shukla, observer and Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda have sent a list of five names to the high command. At the same time, in the midst of all this, the discussion about the name of Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has intensified.
