Lok Sabha Passes Anti Paper Leak Bill Amid Nation-Wide Protests
New Delhi, 29th July 2026: Amid nation-wide uproar because of the NEET leak youth protest movement, and strong criticism from the opposition, the Anti-paper Leak bill has been passed by the Lok Sabha.
The bill is yet to be discussed in Rajya Sabha.
The bill was introduced in the house on 27th July 2026 by Union Minister Jitendra Singh, days after Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation.
The amendment bill was tabled on Monday, with Singh promptly responding to the leak issue, “As many as 52 FIRs have been lodged since the Anti-leak law came into force in 2024.”
The bill seeks to further tighten the punishment process of those found guilty in paper leak investigations or engaging in malpractices during public examinations.
