PM Modi Announces Fast-Track Courts for Paper Leaks Amid Ongoing CJP Protests at Jantar Mantar
New Delhi, 23rd July 2026:Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday announced the establishment of fast-track courts to ensure swift and stringent punishment for those involved in examination paper leaks, stating that “nothing is more important than the welfare and future of our youth.”
The move comes as the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) continues its sustained protests at Jantar Mantar in Delhi, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged irregularities in exams like NEET-UG.
PM Modi tweeted, “We have decided to set up fast-track courts to ensure swift and stringent punishment for those involved in paper leaks. Have directed the concerned authorities and officials to take all necessary steps in this regard. This continues our series of steps for safeguarding the interests of students. Those who try to harm the future of our youth will not be spared.”
The CJP, a youth-led movement founded by Abhijeet Dipke, has been holding demonstrations at Jantar Mantar since early June 2026.
Protesters, including students, parents, and supporters wearing symbolic cockroach masks, have demanded accountability for repeated paper leaks and systemic failures in the National Testing Agency (NTA)-conducted examinations. The agitation intensified with round-the-clock sit-ins, a “library” at the site, and an indefinite hunger strike by climate activist Sonam Wangchuk and several students.
Despite police restrictions, attempts to march toward Parliament, and reports of barricades and site clearances, protesters have persisted, rebuilding tents and continuing their dharna. The demonstrations reflect broader youth concerns over education, employment, and governance.
