Banners in Delhi Spark Talks of Shiv Sena Faction Reunification
New Delhi, 11th June 2024: In Mumbai, speculation arose regarding the potential reunification of the two factions within the Shiv Sena ahead of the upcoming Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Elections. The conversation gained momentum on Monday as banners surfaced in New Delhi advocating for unity between Shiv Sena and Shiv Sena (UBT), emphasizing the collective goal of propelling Maharashtra’s development to new heights.
The banners, displaying messages like “Shiv Sainiks, Tigers unite. Accelerate the development of Maharashtra. Best wishes to all,” prompted discussions within Maharashtra’s political circles, particularly amidst the backdrop of recent developments where the Shinde faction settled for the MoS Independent rank instead of its desired Cabinet positions in the Union Cabinet.
Representatives from both factions shared their perspectives on the matter. Sanjay Shirsat, a spokesperson for the Shinde faction, acknowledged the divergence in ideologies between the groups but expressed openness to reconciliation if there’s a shift in strategy, highlighting the challenges posed by shifting loyalties towards figures like Sharad Pawar and Rahul Gandhi.
Contrastingly, Sushama Andhare, Deputy Leader of Shiv Sena (UBT), underscored respect for the sentiments of Shiv Sainiks while maintaining that those involved in alleged conspiracies against the party must be held accountable. Andhare emphasized the importance of letting the public adjudicate the righteousness of actions amidst accusations of undermining the Shiv Sena’s integrity.
