Union Minister Smriti Irani Aborts Program Launch Due to Low Turnout in Pune
Pune, 11th December 2023: In an unexpected turn of events, Union Minister Smriti Irani cut short her visit to Pune during the launch of the initiative “Do Dhage-Shriram Ke Liye” at the Model College ground. The decision came after the program failed to attract the anticipated crowd, prompting Irani to refrain from going on stage and subsequently leave the event.
Among the notable attendees at the event venue were Maharashtra Legislative Council Deputy Speaker Neelam Gorhe and BJP Leader and Minister of Higher and Technical Education of Maharashtra Chandrakant Patil. The event had initially commenced with Smriti Irani’s participation in the “Do Dhage, Shriram Ke Liye ” program at Fergusson College Road, leading up to her planned address to the citizens of Pune at the Modern College grounds.
Despite the earlier engagement’s success, the event at Modern College faced a stark contrast, with only 20 to 30 citizens present at the venue. Observing the limited turnout, Smriti Irani made the decision not to proceed onto the stage, opting instead to conclude her participation and leave the program.
The specific reasons behind the unexpectedly low attendance and Smriti Irani’s departure from the program have not been officially disclosed. The abrupt conclusion of the event has raised questions about the factors contributing to the disparity in audience numbers compared to the earlier program.
The incident has drawn attention to the potential challenges in garnering public interest for certain initiatives, even with the involvement of prominent figures. The fate of the “Do Dhage-Shriram Ke Liye” initiative in Pune may be subject to further evaluation, considering the unanticipated turn of events during its launch.
