RSS Inaugurates Massive New Headquarters ‘Keshav Kunj’ in Delhi
New Delhi, 13th February 2025: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has unveiled its new headquarters, Keshav Kunj, in New Delhi. Spanning five lakh square feet, the expansive complex includes three towers, auditoriums, a library, a hospital, and a Hanuman temple. Designed with a focus on sustainability, the project was entirely funded by public contributions amounting to ₹150 crore.
Built to accommodate the RSS’s growing activities, Keshav Kunj will serve as a hub for training, meetings, and events. The library aims to support research, while the auditoriums will facilitate large gatherings. Additionally, the complex features a five-bed hospital for medical care and landscaped lawns for relaxation.
Situated in Jhandewala, the headquarters surpasses the BJP headquarters in size and integrates office spaces, residential areas, and other facilities. The three towers—Sadhana, Prerana, and Archana—house 300 rooms, office spaces, and conference halls. Sadhana is dedicated to administrative functions, while Prerana and Archana serve as residential quarters.
A landscaped open area between Prerana and Archana features a lawn and a statue of RSS founder Keshav Baliram Hedgewar. This space has been designated for daily shakhas. The complex also provides parking for 135 vehicles, with provisions to expand the capacity to 270.
According to an RSS official, the headquarters was built entirely through donations from RSS members and well-wishers. Approximately 75,000 individuals contributed amounts ranging from ₹5 to several lakhs.
Before moving into the new complex, the RSS had been operating from the Udaseen Ashram in Jhandewala for the past eight years. The shift to Keshav Kunj began in September last year, with functionaries gradually relocating. While some interior work is still ongoing, the transition is now complete.
The headquarters features three auditoriums, collectively seating over 1,300 people. One of them, named after former VHP president Ashok Singhal, includes stadium seating and cushioned sofa chairs.
Architectural elements inspired by Rajasthan and Gujarat adorn the building, with 1,000 granite frames incorporated to minimize wood usage. Keshav Kunj also houses a mess, a canteen, and a research-focused library, Keshav Pustakalaya, located on the 10th floor. The Dilli Prant Karyalay and Suruchi Prakashan offices are also part of the complex.
RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat is set to host the Karyakarta Milan at the new headquarters on February 19, ahead of the Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha Baithak in Bengaluru from March 21-23. The annual meeting of the RSS’s highest decision-making body will be held in Bengaluru during this period.
