Raj Thackeray Responds to Operation Sindoor: “War Is Not the Answer to Terror Attacks”

Mumbai, 7th May 2025: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray reacted to India’s Operation Sindoor, which targeted nine terror camps in Pakistan following the Pahalgam attack, by emphasising that war is not the solution to terrorism. Speaking to reporters in Mumbai, Thackeray stated, “War is not the answer to a terrorist attack. When the Pahalgam attack happened, I had said the perpetrators must be taught a lesson that future generations remember, but responding with war is not the way forward”.

Thackeray questioned the effectiveness of military strikes as a long-term solution, pointing out, “America did not go to war after the Twin Towers were attacked; they hunted down the terrorists responsible. Similarly, our priority should be to find and neutralize those who carried out the Pahalgam attack, who are still at large”. He also raised concerns about security lapses at tourist sites and urged the government to focus on addressing these gaps rather than escalating conflict: “Why was there no security at the site where the attack happened? Pakistan is already a failed state- what more damage can we do?”.
