Rahul Gandhi Mocks PM Modi, Blames Him for UGC-NET Cancellation and NEET Leaks

New Delhi, 20th June 2024: Congress MP Rahul Gandhi criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday over the UGC-NET cancellation and the ongoing NEET controversy. Gandhi mocked PM Modi, saying, “They claimed Modi ji ended the Russia-Ukraine war. Yet, he hasn’t managed to stop or doesn’t want to stop paper leaks in India.”

The UGC-NET exam, conducted on June 18 by the National Testing Agency, was cancelled by the Education Ministry on Wednesday due to concerns about compromised integrity. The issue has been referred to the CBI for investigation.

Gandhi attributed the paper leaks to the BJP’s parent organization capturing the education system. He stated, “Until this is reversed, paper leaks will continue. Modi ji has enabled this capture, which is an anti-national act.”

Gandhi also claimed that university Vice-Chancellors are selected based on their affiliations rather than merit. “This organization and the BJP have infiltrated and ruined our education system. What Modi did to the economy with demonetization has now been done to education,” he remarked.

He emphasized the destruction of an independent education system, saying, “The reason for these issues is the demolition of an objective education system. It’s crucial to hold those responsible accountable and ensure they are punished.”

Gandhi vowed that his party would address the NEET controversy and UGC-NET cancellation in Parliament. Additionally, he is scheduled to meet with students affected by the alleged NEET irregularities.
