Pune: NCP Leader Jayant Patil Downplays Splits, Stresses Ideological Strength

Pimpri, 2nd December 2023: Jayant Patil, the State President of the Sharad Pawar faction within the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), addressed the recent party splits during the inauguration of a central party office in Pimpri-Chinchwad. He expressed confidence that despite internal upheavals, the party’s strength lies in its ideological foundation and the legacy of Sharad Pawar. Patil assured party members that the public would teach a lesson to those who caused the division and betrayal in the future.

The inauguration ceremony, held near the Shani temple in Pimpri, was attended by prominent NCP figures, including Shirur MP Dr Amol Kolhe, NCP State President Mahebub Sheikh, and senior leaders Azam Pansare and Sunil Gavane.

In his address, Jayant Patil highlighted the significance of Pimpri-Chinchwad’s development under Sharad Pawar’s leadership. He emphasized that the party, grounded in its ideology, remained in power for seventeen and a half years within its first 25 years of establishment. Patil acknowledged the contributions of Sharad Pawar in providing proper housing to slum dwellers and steering the party through various challenges.

Addressing the recent party splits, Patil downplayed the significance of individuals leaving, stating that the party has a strong foundation under Sharad Pawar’s leadership. He urged party members not to be concerned about the shifts in power dynamics, assuring them of the unwavering support of the people of Maharashtra for Sharad Pawar.

Patil encouraged party members to focus on the upcoming opportunities in the Municipal Corporations, emphasizing the need to bring in new faces. He advised against dwelling on those who had left the party and encouraged everyone to continue their efforts, stating that the public was observing their actions.
