Pune: Eknath Khadse’s Potential BJP Entry: Bawankule And Rohit Pawar React
Pune, 7th April 2024: The political landscape in Pune sees a flurry of activity as leaders react to significant developments. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state president Chandrasekhar Bawankule welcomes new entrants, including former Chief Minister Ashok Chavan and Dr Archana Patil Chakurkar, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Addressing Eknath Khadse’s potential entry into the BJP, Bawankule assures that the decision rests with the central and state-level committees, emphasizing the party’s openness to all who align with Modi’s vision for a developed India.
Contrastingly, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MLA Rohit Pawar accuses the BJP of employing coercive tactics, suggesting Khadse’s return to BJP was prompted by fear of arrest. Pawar condemns what he perceives as a pattern of intimidation by the BJP, alleging that several leaders, including Ajit Pawar, succumbed to pressure to avoid legal repercussions. Pawar further criticizes the political climate, suggesting that some ministers from Pune may be implicated in scandals, yet remain shielded from scrutiny due to fear of exposure.
Pawar’s remarks also touch upon the internal dynamics within the BJP, speculating on Devendra Fadnavis’s perceived sense of marginalization within the party. He references the shifting fortunes of political figures like Vinod Tawde, suggesting that Fadnavis may feel sidelined amidst changes in leadership dynamics.
