Prime Minister Will Inaugurate Samruddhi Highway On December 11
Meanwhile, for approving the Nagpur Metro Phase II and Nag River Pollution Control Project, Chief Minister Shinde thanked the Prime Minister.
In a meeting held at Varsha residence, the Chief Minister reviewed the preparations for the inauguration ceremony of the Highway. Chief Secretary Manukumar Srivastav, Additional Chief Secretary of Finance Department Manoj Saunik, and Principal Secretary of Protocol Department Manisha Mhaiskar were present on this occasion. Nagpur Divisional Commissioner Vijayalakshmi Prasanna Bidri, Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation Managing Director Radheshyam Moparwar, Nagpur Collector Vipin Itankar, Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar, Mahametro MD Brijesh Dixit, etc were present through video conferencing for the said meeting.
Chief Minister stated that Samruddhi Highway, which is the longest expressway in the country built by the state government, will be the fate line of the prosperity of Maharashtra and this highway will be a game changer in the overall development of the state.
Stating that Vidarbha, Marathwada region will become an industrial revolutionist, the Chief Minister said, “This ceremony is being held in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and it is a moment of great joy for our state.”
On this occasion, the Chief Minister gave instructions to ensure that there is no inconvenience to the citizens who are going to be present for the said event.
The Prime Minister will arrive at Nagpur Airport around 9.30 am, followed by the inauguration of Khapari Metro Station, Nagpur Phase 1, flagging off of Vande Mataram train, the inauguration of Mihan AIIMS, followed by the inauguration of Samruddhi Highway from Vayphal toll plaza.
During this time Prime Minister will travel through Nagpur Metro and will also travel from Zero Miles to the Vayphal toll plaza. The Prime Minister’s meeting will be held at the Temple Maidan.
Maharashtra Governor Bhagatsingh Koshyari, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Ashwini Vaishnav, Hardeep Puri, State Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Union Minister of State Bharti Pawar, Raosaheb Danve and other dignitaries will be present on this occasion.
The Chief Minister informed about the preparations being made through the Nagpur District Administration, Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation Ltd (MSRDC), Metro regarding the unveiling of the preparations of various activities for the Prime Minister’s visit.
Nagpur Mumbai Rapid Transit Expressway has been notified as an important project. The said highway has been named “Hinduhridaysamrat Balasaheb Thackeray Maharashtra Samruddhi Highway” by the government decision dated December 22, 2019.
The entire project has received approval from Environment, Forest Department, and Wildlife Conservation Department. At present 8861.02 hectares of land (road width + interchange) required for the project has been acquired. The said project is divided into 16 packages. The entire project is expected to be completed by July 2023. Along with this, a total of 84 structures for wildlife protection were proposed in the project, however, these structures have been increased to 100 as per requirement, designed under the guidance of the Forest Department.
At present, the work of packages 1 to 11 (up to Shirdi) has been completed. As the first phase, the Nagpur to Shirdi 520 km road out of 701 km, ready for traffic is being inaugurated. The rest of the highway is planned to be opened for traffic by July 2023.
