NCP’s Jitendra Awhad Requests Maharashtra Government To Grant Menstrual Leaves To Students And Employees
Mumbai, 17th January 22023: Jitendra Awhad, a former Maharashtra minister and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MLA, asked the state government today (January 17) to allow female students and government employees to take menstruation breaks.
The proposal came a few days after Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) declared that its female students will be granted menstruation breaks.
He tweeted, “I request @mieknathshinde and @Dev_Fadnavis that the Kerala government has taken a decision to give leave during menstruation. This is a very commendable matter. The Maharashtra government should also take a similar decision for the students, women government employees of our state.”
The Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) has stated that it will provide its female students with menstruation leaves.
