NCP Leader Bhujbal Raises Concerns Over Kunbi Certificate Fabrication During Pune Visit
Pune, 27th November 2023: NCP Leader and Minister Chhagan Bhujbal, is currently on a two-day visit to Pune, where he expressed concerns about the alleged fabrication of Kunbi certificates. While affirming that genuine Kunbis have already acquired their certificates, Bhujbal criticized the reported instances of fraudulent Kunbi certificates being produced.
During his visit to Pune, where he is staying at the Government Guest House, Bhujbal engaged with the media, addressing various issues. He emphasized that the need to scrutinize Kunbi records is specific to Marathwada, which historically had Nizamshahi. He cited the formation of the Shinde committee by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde to investigate Kunbi records in Marathwada, stating that its task is now complete, and there’s no necessity to extend this search to the entire state of Maharashtra.
While expressing no opposition to reservations for the Maratha community, Bhujbal emphasized the importance of ensuring that their reservations should be separate and not drawn from the OBC category. He reiterated his stance that the Shinde committee’s work regarding Kunbi records is concluded.
Touching upon recent incidents, Bhujbal highlighted an attack on the police, emphasizing the need to prioritize the safety of law enforcement officials. He expressed concern about a lady police officer being injured and called for a thorough investigation into an attack on the police in Beed. Bhujbal urged for transparency in such cases, holding the Superintendent of Police and the Home Minister accountable for ensuring public awareness and trust in the actions taken by the police.
