My Goal Is Not To Become CM Or PM, But To Remove BJP From The Centre: Bihar CM Nitish Kumar
Bihar, 13th December 2022: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said, on Tuesday, that his goal is not to become Chief Minister or Prime Minister, but to defeat the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). “I was never involved in the race for the post of Prime Minister. I am not even today. The Grand Alliance will fight the next elections in Bihar under the leadership of Tejashwi, and I will try to unite the opposition at the national level,” Kumar stated.
Kumar was addressing the meeting of the Grand Alliance Legislature Party on Tuesday. Looking at the Congress MLAs, the Chief Minister said, “You should tell your leadership that I am not a contender for the post of Prime Minister. To oust the BJP from power at the Center in 2024 has now become my aim. A nationwide campaign will be launched for this. I will unite the opposition parties.”
Kumar pointed to Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav sitting on the dais and said, “Now, he has to be promoted. If we all fight the elections unitedly, the BJP will not win any seat in Bihar in the next Lok Sabha elections. He will not be successful even in the 2025 assembly elections. If the opposition is united, it is not impossible to remove the BJP from power at the Centre. We are trying. Other parties should also consider this.”
The Chief Minister said that the BJP is doing politics of lies, hatred and malice. Kumar advised the MLAs and Legislative Council members of the Grand Alliance to remain united in the winter session of the Legislature. He said that all the seven parties have come together. “We have to maintain our unity sharply,” he stated.
He said that the MLA should write down the problems of their area. “There are people of all castes and religions in the Grand Alliance. We also have to work for everyone,” Kumar added. During the discussion on the liquor ban, the Chief Minister said that the government has decided to give Rs one lakh to the poor who were previously involved in this profession so that they can do other work for their livelihood.
Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav said that all the MLAs of the Grand Alliance are with every decision of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. “We have experienced leadership in the form of Nitish Kumar. There is rocky unity. We have to work together with the Leader of the House,” he said.
He said that despite the demand, the status of the special state is not being given. “In the interest of the state, Nitish Kumar has taken the right decision to remove the BJP from power at the Centre. We have to have faith in our leadership and government. Now we have to work to save democracy, constitution, peace and secularism. There is a big responsibility on our shoulders too,” Yadav said.
