Mumbai: Shiv Sena Party Office In Parliament House Handed Over To Shinde Faction

Mumbai, 21st February 2023: The Shiv Sena office in Parliament has been occupied by the Eknath Shinde faction, landing another blow to the Thackeray faction after losing the Shiv Sena name and symbol. The Lok Sabha Secretariat has given possession of the party office in the Parliament House to the Shinde faction. An order in this regard has been issued by the Lok Sabha Secretariat. The order said that room number 128 of the Parliament House will be allotted as an office to the Shiv Sena parliamentary party.

After losing the name and election symbol of Shiv Sena, the Uddhav faction suffered another blow on Monday. The Shiv Sena office, located in the Vidhansabha, was also handed over to the Shinde faction. The MLAs supporting the Shinde faction had met Assembly Speaker Rahul Narvekar and demanded this.

Significantly, on 17th February, the Election Commission decided to give the name of the Shiv Sena and its election symbol, the bow and arrow, to the Shinde faction. The Uddhav faction has challenged the decision of the Election Commission in the Supreme Court. Dhav Thackeray has demanded the cancellation of the decision of the Election Commission.

At the same time, the Supreme Court has agreed to hear the petition of the Uddhav group. The matter will be heard on Wednesday at 3.30 pm. Senior advocate Kapil Sibal, appearing for the Uddhav faction, said in the court on Tuesday that if the order of the Election Commission has not stayed, they will take everything, including bank accounts and others.
