Mumbai: Facilities Mandatory In Municipal Parks, Says CM Shinde
Mumbai, 22nd March 2023: Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Tuesday ordered the preparation of a separate development plan for providing adequate toilets and all necessary facilities like electricity, water, and security in the parks of all the municipal areas of the state, including Mumbai. The Chief Minister was speaking during the discussion on the question about the absence of facilities. The government has decided to make radical changes in Mumbai; accordingly, the beautification of the city and other works have started.
According to this, he mentioned that toilets, water tanks, street lights and security arrangements will be made at parks. At the same time, he also said that 10 well-equipped toilets will be constructed each on the East and West expressways of Mumbai. At this time, many members, including Nana Patole, Ashish Shelar, Amin Patel, and Yogesh Sagar, objected to the written reply given by the municipality and demanded action against the concerned officials. Assembly Speaker Rahul Narvekar pointed out that there was only one toilet on the drive. CM Shinde assured them that more toilets will be constructed at necessary places.
