Mumbai: CM Eknath Shinde, Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis Do Bhumi Pujan For Beautification Works
Mumbai, 26th February 2023: A special project involving 500 works is being implemented by the Mumbai Municipal Corporation to beautify Mumbai. 320 additional works will be undertaken under this project. Bhumi Pujan of the works was performed by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday, 26th February, at noon at Lokmanya Tilak Stadium in Chembur.
The works of 111 roads with a total length of 52 km under road cement concreting in Mumbai will be started. Also, the groundbreaking ceremony of sewerage channels in Tilak Nagar, Nehru Nagar and Sahakar Nagar will be done at this time.
Maharashtra School Education and Marathi Language Minister and Mumbai City District Guardian Minister Deepak Kesarkar, Tourism and Women and Child Development Minister and Mumbai Suburban District Guardian Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha, local MP Poonam Mahajan, local MLA Mangesh Kudalkar, MLA Sunil Shinde, MLA Rajhans Singh, and Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal were present for the program.
Bhumi Pujan of 500 works under the first phase of the project was done by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on 8th December 2022. 121 works have been completed and the remaining works are in progress. Now in the second phase, 320 works have been undertaken by the administration. Bhoomipujan of these works was held on Sunday.
The Municipal Corporation has undertaken the work of road cement concreting to make the roads in Mumbai permanently pothole-free. Out of them, the works of 111 roads with a length of 52 km will be started. This includes 24 roads with a length of 11.06 km in the eastern suburbs, 61 roads with a length of 31 km in the western suburbs, and 26 roads with a length of 9.66 km in the city. Similarly, the Sewerage Project Department will provide and lay sewerage channels to improve the sewerage network in Tilak Nagar in Mhada Colony in Chembur, Nehru Nagar in the Kurla area and Sahakar Nagar. Out of these, 1,390 meters in Tilak Nagar and 1,550 meters in Nehru Nagar will be upgraded. Bhumi Pujan will be done for these works.
