MP Majeed Memon Joins TMC After Leaving NCP In November
Delhi, 14th December 2022: Former Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MP Majeed Memon has joined the Trinamool Congress (TMC) party. Majeed joined TMC in the presence of TMC MPs Derek O’Brien and Saugata Roy. Majeed Memon quit the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) in November.
Majeed Memon is a renowned criminal lawyer and former Rajya Sabha MP from the Nationalist Congress Party. He was elected as the Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) from Maharashtra from 2014 to 2020 on a Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) ticket. As a legislator, he served as a member of the Parliamentary Committee on Personnel, Public Grievances, Law and Justice and as a member of the Consultative Committee for the Ministry of Law and Justice.
Recently, Majeed Memon praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that the qualities that PM Modi has are not there in the opposition leaders. “If Narendra Modi wins the votes of the people and is also shown as the most popular leader in the world, then he must have some good qualities or good deeds which the opposition leaders did not do,” he said. However, later he also revoked his statement. He said he does not support the ideology of PM Modi or the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
