Monsoon Session To Be Held On December 7
Delhi, 20th November 2022: The monsoon session is starting on 7th December and the very next day Gujarat, and Himachal Pradesh assembly elections as well as Delhi MCD decisions are going to come. The similarity in all these three elections is the same – every party’s fight is with the BJP. BJP is in power in all three places. This is important for the BJP. The way it created history by coming back to power in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa and Manipur six months ago, the moral force of the opposition would be slightly weaker. If the situation changes, then the opposition will be excited, but the tension in the opposition unity can also intensify.
In the monsoon session, the true form of the ongoing exercise regarding opposition unity can be seen. The fight in Himachal Pradesh is between the BJP and Congress. In Gujarat, AAP is the third player along with BJP and Congress, while in Delhi the main contest is between BJP and AAP. Although both Congress and AAP are in opposition, at what level is the mutual sourness between them in public? If AAP manages to get some seats or get six per cent votes in Gujarat, then it too will have the status of a national party.
The opposition has all regional parties except the Congress, the BSP and the CPI(M). That is, after the West Bengal elections, the competition, which started in the opposition to advance itself, can be seen moving one step further. It may be known that after Mamata Banerjee’s third consecutive victory in West Bengal, the slogan of unity was given at the Center for a few days, but along with that, an attempt was also made to give the message that Trinamool is not ready to accept anyone’s leadership. . This attitude was shown vocally in the presidential and vice-presidential elections.
When Rahul Gandhi started the Bharat Jodo Yatra two months ago, uneasiness was also visible in some opposition colleagues. Now that the Yatra is in Maharashtra, a rift has arisen in the Mahavikas Aghadi over Rahul’s statements on Veer Savarkar. If the Congress’s fortunes open in Himachal, then the party will be seen coming out of the pressure of other regional parties even more. That is, at present the opposition is standing at such a juncture where everyone is trying to strengthen themselves. In such a situation, every activity of the monsoon session can be seen giving the message of the pulse of the opposition.
Elections are to be held in an important state like Karnataka in March-April next year, and the Aam Aadmi Party will be in the fray there too. So Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is sitting on JDU and supported Congress in government formation last time. Rao is indirectly projecting himself at the central level as well.
