Manoj Jarange Vows to Challenge Politicians Opposing Maratha Quota
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, 10th June 2024: Reservation activist Manoj Jarange, whose indefinite hunger strike entered its second day on Sunday, warned that he will bring down ruling party politicians who trouble the Marathas.
Jarange also claimed there have been attacks on Marathas in certain areas of Beed. “With the assembly elections around the corner, some ruling party politicians, not having learned from the outcome of the Lok Sabha elections, are attempting to trouble the Marathas. We will defeat such politicians in the next elections,” he told reporters in Antarvali Sarathi village, Jalna.
Jarange expressed disappointment that no state government officials had approached him for a dialogue. “I don’t know the government’s intention. However, my intention is clear: I will fight for my community till my last breath,” he declared.
He demanded that the state government implement the ‘Sage-Soyare’ notification in its entirety and withdraw police cases against Maratha community members involved in the quota movement. “The state government can make decisions on my demands from Mumbai. There is no need to meet me,” he stated.
The activist also urged his community members to maintain peace during the ongoing movement.
