Maharashtra: MSRTC Announces Free Bus Rides For Citizens Over Age Of 75

Pune, 18th December 2022: People over the age of 75 will be able to ride buses for free starting on Friday, according to the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC).

 

 

Shekhar Channe, vice chairman and general manager of the state-run transportation organisation, in an MSRTC release, explained that customers who qualified for this free travel programme would receive a fare refund if they had purchased their tickets before 26th August.

 

 

 

Maharashtra Chief Minister (CM) Eknath Shinde tweeted that the scheme was introduced for those above the age of 75 on the occasion of Amrit Mahotsav.

 

 

 

According to the announcement, identity credentials like an Aadhaar card, a PAN card, a driver’s licence, or a voter card can be used to access the free transit service. The facility will only be available for trips inside the boundaries of Maharashtra and will not be available for MSRTC’s city buses.
