Kejriwal Government Announces Help Of Rs 5000 To Labourers

Delhi, 2nd November 2022: In the national capital, the Arvind Kejriwal government has announced a big relief to the workers. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said, “I told Labour Minister Manish Sisodia to help the labourers financially. Rs 5,000 will be given to the labourers as financial help.” The Kejriwal government has said that till the ban on construction work in Delhi continues, the labourers will be given Rs 5,000.

After this announcement of the Kejriwal government, financial help will be given to the labourers engaged in construction work. Given the deteriorating air in Delhi, earlier state Environment Minister Gopal Rai appealed to the people of Delhi to work from home. Gopal Rai also urged the public to avoid using private vehicles. Kejriwal tweeted, “Construction activities have been stopped across Delhi given pollution. I have directed the Labor Minister Manish Sisodia to give five thousand rupees per month as financial assistance to each construction worker during this period.”

Earlier, because of Delhi’s deteriorating climate, the Central Government banned construction, demolition and other activities in Delhi-NCR except for essential projects. Due to increasing pollution in Delhi at present, the third phase of GRAP is in force. The restrictions under phase three of the Phased Response Action Plan (GRAP) ban construction, demolition and mining, among other activities. With pollution levels deteriorating, the Centre’s air quality panel on Saturday directed authorities to ban construction and demolition activities in Delhi-NCR and implement other restrictions under phase three of the GRAP, except for essential projects. The GRAP, first implemented in 2017, is a system of anti-air pollution measures in the national capital and its adjoining areas as per the gravity of the situation.

Delhi’s air quality improved marginally on Wednesday morning due to relatively better weather conditions, and the Air Quality Management Commission (CAQM) said there is no immediate need to impose restrictions under the fourth phase of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP). Meteorologists said that the air quality is expected to improve from Thursday due to strong winds. The national capital recorded a minimum temperature of 15.5 degrees Celsius, a notch above the season’s average and gusty winds gusted around eight kilometres per hour on Wednesday morning.

There was a better visibility level (1500 m) at Palam and Safdarjung airports at 9 am due to a slight improvement in air quality. The Air Quality Index (AQI) in the city stood at 376 at 9 am. The 24-hour average air quality index (AQI) in Delhi was recorded at 424 at 4 pm on Tuesday, the worst since December 26 (459) last year. This was the second day after January 2 (AQI 404) in Delhi this year when the air quality was recorded in the ‘severe’ category, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data.

The air quality at the monitoring stations in Bawana (402), Wazirpur (414), Vivek Vihar (403), Patparganj (410), Jahangirpuri (409), Sonia Vihar (426) and Ashok Vihar (402) was recorded in the ‘severe’ category. . According to the CPCB, on Wednesday morning 336 in Ghaziabad, 347 in Noida, 345 in Greater Noida, 373 in Faridabad, 319 in Gurugram, 332 in Bhiwani, Bahadurgarh recorded 353, Bulandshahr 242, Hapur 208, Meerut 174, and Sonipat 298. An AQI greater than 400 is considered “severe” and can adversely affect the health of healthy people and can seriously affect those who are already ill.
