Exit Poll Results and Coverage
Exit poll results will begin at 6:30 PM on June 1, 2024. India Today-Axis My India’s election forecast will provide comprehensive coverage with real-time updates, expert analyses, and reactions from across the political spectrum. Exit Poll Methodology
Exit polls reflect broader voting trends and are based on interviews with voters immediately after they leave polling stations. These polls provide an early indication of which party may hold power in the 543-seat Lok Sabha.
Election Timeline
Voting for the Lok Sabha elections began on April 19, followed by phases on April 26, May 7, May 13, May 20, May 25, and June 1. The results will be declared on June 4.
Simultaneous Assembly Elections
Simultaneous assembly elections were also held in Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, and Sikkim. Results for the assembly elections in Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim will be declared on June 2, while those for Andhra Pradesh and Odisha will be announced on June 4.
Exit Poll Survey Methodology
Axis My India, the pollster partnered with India Today, conducted face-to-face interviews in all 543 parliamentary constituencies. Over 912 field investigators interviewed more than 5.8 lakh respondents nationwide. The survey was conducted over 43 days, covering the duration of the seven-phase polls.
Axis My India’s Track Record
Axis My India boasts an accuracy of 94 %, having correctly predicted 64 out of 69 elections. In the 2019 Lok Sabha election, the India Today-Axis My India Exit Poll accurately predicted the outcome, projecting that the Narendra Modi-led NDA government would secure between 339 and 365 seats, with the UPA expected to win 77-108 seats. The actual results saw the BJP-led NDA victorious with 353 seats, with the BJP alone securing 303 seats.
Current Election Projections
This time, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set a target of over 400 seats for the NDA, with the BJP aiming for more than 370 seats. The exit polls will gauge whether the BJP’s ambitious goals are met or if the Congress will return to power after 10 years in the Opposition. They will also indicate potential shifts in India’s political landscape for the coming term.
