
Devendra Fadnavis Cabinet Expanded; Chhagan Bhujbal Takes Oath As Maharashtra Minister After Munde’s Departure
Mumbai, 20th May 2025: The cabinet has been expanded in Maharashtra. Nationalist Congress Party (NCP Ajit Pawar Faction) leader Chhagan Bhujbal has once again got a chance to become a minister. Chhagan Bhujbal has taken oath as a minister. After the resignation of Dhananjay Munde, a post was vacant in the cabinet. Now this post has been handed over to Chhagan Bhujbal.
Bhujbal has taken oath as a minister in the Maharashtra government. Chhagan Bhujbal’s swearing-in ceremony was seen at the Raj Bhavan in Mumbai. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar were also present on this occasion.
Chhagan Bhujbal is currently an MLA from Yeola in Nashik. Many leaders have congratulated Bhujbal on his inclusion in the cabinet. Maharashtra Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Chandrashekhar Bawankule has welcomed him into the cabinet. He says that Bhujbal will play an important role in developing Maharashtra. After getting the ministerial post, Bhujbal said while talking to the media, “All is well that ends well.”
Chhagan Bhujbal is considered a big face of the Other Backward Classes (OBC) community in politics. He has also been the former Deputy Chief Minister and Cabinet Minister of Maharashtra. In December 2024, he did not get a place in the Fadnavis cabinet, over which he expressed his displeasure. However, after the resignation of Dhananjay Munde, he has now been taken back into the cabinet.
