CM Siddaramaiah Pushes Away Microphone, Avoids Questions on MUDA Scam Linked to Family Land Deal
Bengaluru, 26th September 2024: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah expressed frustration with a journalist during a press interaction on Thursday, physically pushing away a microphone when questioned about the MUDA Scam and the surrounding controversy.
In response to the reporter’s inquiries, Siddaramaiah declined to provide any comments, stating on video, “I’ll call and tell you later when it’s required.”
Concerns have been raised regarding possible misuse of residential site allotments by the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA), specifically involving land previously owned by Parvathi Siddaramaiah, the Chief Minister’s wife. The opposition and BJP have branded this issue as the ‘MUDA Scam.’
Parvathi received a gift of three acres in Kesare village, located on the outskirts of Mysuru, from her brother Mallikarjun. This land was later acquired by MUDA for development purposes, leading to Parvathi being allocated 38,283 square feet of prime residential plots in Vijayanagar, a highly desirable area in southern Mysuru, in 2021.
