Can’t Force Rahul Gandhi, Digvijay Singh Answered At Congress President’s Question

New Delhi, 23rd August 2022: Digvijay Singh said that if Rahul Gandhi does not want to become the president of the party, we cannot pressurize him, Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot appealed to Rahul Gandhi on Monday.

Senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh said, ‘’Rahul Gandhi cannot be made Congress President forcibly if he does not want to hold the post.’’ Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot had said on Monday that Rahul Gandhi should take over the post of Congress President. He also said that the Congressmen across the country are looking at him with hopeful eyes and that every Congress worker will be happy if he takes over.

The election of the President is to be held by September 20, but till now the situation has not been cleared. Rahul Gandhi has not indicated that he will enter the election for the post of President. He resigned from the post of party chief in 2019 and has consistently refused to hold the post. Congress sources say that recently he has refused to take responsibility once again.

Digvijay Singh said, ‘’Everyone knows that the people of Congress are continuously appealing to Rahul Gandhi to become the President. It depends on him. How can you force someone? We are trying to bring everyone together.’’

Digvijay Singh also said that the future of the party is bright. Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot had said that Rahul Gandhi should take care of the sentiments of Congressmen across the country and accept the post of president on Monday. He had said, ‘’If Rahul Gandhi does not become the president, then every Congressman in the country will be disappointed. He himself should accept this position. The sentiments of Congressmen should be understood and, the one-sided opinion in Congress is that Rahul Gandhi should become the President. So, I think he should accept the post.’’
