Amit Shah Criticizes Congress Over Alleged Collaboration with Pakistan on Jammu and Kashmir Issues

New Delhi, 19th September 2024: On Thursday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah used remarks from Pakistani Minister Khwaja Asif about Jammu and Kashmir to criticize the Congress party, accusing it of collaborating with anti-national forces. Shah’s comments, posted on X, were aimed at exposing what he described as a shared agenda between Congress and Pakistan regarding Article 370 and Article 35A.

Shah asserted, “Khwaja Asif’s statements about the Congress and the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference’s stance on Article 370 and 35A have once again revealed Congress’s alignment with anti-national elements. This underscores that Congress and Pakistan share the same objectives and intentions. Rahul Gandhi’s alignment with every anti-India entity only serves to undermine national sentiments.”

He further remarked, “Whether questioning the authenticity of air strikes or making derogatory remarks about the Indian Army, Rahul Gandhi’s Congress Party has consistently echoed Pakistan’s narrative. Despite these attempts, the Modi government stands firm, and neither Article 370 nor terrorism will return to Kashmir.”

Amit Shah’s remarks followed Khwaja Asif’s statement suggesting that the Shehbaz Sharif government and the Congress-National Conference alliance in Jammu and Kashmir are united in their push to restore Article 370 and 35A. Asif was quoted saying, “Pakistan and the National Conference-Congress alliance are aligned on the issue of restoring Article 370 and 35A.”

In response, BJP’s Amit Malviya shared a video of Asif’s interview on X, emphasizing the alignment between Pakistan and the Congress-National Conference alliance. BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla also criticized Congress, stating, “The truth is out. The Congress party, in its opposition to PM Modi, is even aligning with Pakistan.” He added, “Congress NC ka Haath Pakistan ke Saath.”

Asif’s comments come as Jammu and Kashmir holds its first assembly elections since the abrogation of Article 370 and Article 35A five years ago.
