Adv. Rahul Narvekar Meets Amit Shah To Discuss Savarkar Monument In France
Delhi, 20th October 2022: Independence veteran Savarkar jumped from the boat “Morea” near the port of Marseille on July 8, 1920, to evade the British guards in the French sea. This day is celebrated as “Adventure Day”. Therefore, on 20th October 2022, the Speaker of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Adv. Rahul Narvekar met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi. Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis’s concept of building a memorial was discussed in detail with the Union Home Minister during his visit to Delhi.
112 years have passed since this historic jump of Swatantra Veer Savarkar on 8th July 2022. On that occasion, his oil painting was unveiled at the Independence Veer Savarkar Memorial in Dadar by the Legislative Assembly Speaker. It was ceremoniously done by Rahul Narvekar. On this occasion, the working president of the memorial Ranjit Savarkar expressed the hope that a monument of freedom fighter Savarkar should be built on the shores of France and that the present Central and State Governments should take initiative for this inspiring action which is famous in the Trikhand and has special historical significance. Speaking on this occasion, Narvekar assured that he will personally pay attention and follow up on this matter. In this background, the visit of the Assembly Speaker to Delhi is of importance.
