Senior BJP Leader L.K. Advani Readmitted to Delhi’s Apollo Hospital

New Delhi, 6th August 2024: Approximately a month after his previous discharge, senior BJP leader L.K. Advani was readmitted to Delhi’s Apollo Hospital on Tuesday. The 96-year-old is reported to be stable and currently under observation, according to informed sources.

Advani is receiving care from neurologist Dr. Vinit Suri.

Before his recent hospitalization at Apollo Hospital, Advani had also been admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences.

Advani, who served as India’s deputy prime minister from 2002 to 2004 and as Union home minister from 1999 to 2004, was honoured with the Bharat Ratna, the nation’s highest civilian award, in March. The award ceremony took place at his residence and was attended by President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Advani’s family. Prime Minister Modi also visited Advani before forming his third government.
