Pune: Supriya Sule Confident of Ticket for Baramati, Highlights BJP’s “Revenge Politics”

Pune, 28th March 2024: NCP president Ajit Pawar recently made a statement in Pune, suggesting the party would have a candidate of choice in Baramati. Responding to this, NCP leader and incumbent MP Supriya Sule asserted her intention to contest from Baramati, stating, “I have requested the ticket for Baramati and am prepared to contest. Why should I seek entry elsewhere?” She emphasized her longstanding tenure as the people’s representative of the Baramati Lok Sabha Constituency for the past 15 years and her prior request for the ticket, made six months ago in alignment with the party and coalition alliances.

Addressing reporters, Baramati MP Sule expressed confidence in receiving the ticket based on her performance, underscoring her commitment to the constituency’s development. She criticized the BJP’s electoral motives, alleging their focus on targeting Sharad Pawar rather than addressing pressing issues like unemployment and inflation. Sule condemned what she labelled as “revenge politics” by the BJP and emphasized her dedication to serving the people, drawing energy and happiness from their support.

Reflecting on the significance of the Chhatrapati’s throne, Sule highlighted its reverence both within the state and nationally. She noted her collaborative efforts with Udayanaraje Bhosle over the years and expressed concern over the delay in announcing his ticket, asserting that such delays can cause distress and insult among party colleagues. Sule emphasized the importance of maintaining personal relationships, attributing this value to her upbringing by her mother.
