UP Minister Claims Cleaning Cowsheds Could Cure Cancer, Lower Blood Pressure
Lucknow, 14th October 2024: Uttar Pradesh minister Sanjay Singh Gangwar asserted on Sunday that lying down in a cowshed and cleaning it could potentially cure cancer. He also claimed that petting a cow could help reduce blood pressure. Gangwar made these statements during the inauguration of the Kanha gaushala in Nougawa Pakadiya, which was constructed for Rs 55 lakh.
He elaborated, “For individuals with high blood pressure, there are cows available here. They should stroke a cow’s back every morning and evening while caring for it. If someone is taking a 20mg blood pressure medication, this could drop to 10 mg in just ten days.”
On the topic of cancer, he stated, “If a cancer patient begins cleaning a cowshed and spends time there, even cancer could be treated. Burning cow dung cakes can provide relief from mosquitoes, and everything produced by a cow has some benefit.”
Gangwar also addressed the issue of stray cattle, noting, “We are not honouring our mother (the cow), which is why she is causing us problems.” He suggested that Muslims celebrate Eid at the gaushala and proposed that Eid delicacies could be prepared using cow’s milk.
The newly established gaushala offers facilities for fodder, medical care, and shelter for abandoned cows. Gangwar encouraged people to engage with the gaushalas and consider donating fodder to mark personal celebrations like anniversaries and children’s birthdays.
Gangwar has an extensive political background, having run for office in the 2012 assembly election with the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP). He later joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), winning seats in the 2017 and 2022 elections from Pilibhit. He is known for his controversial statements and has been critical of former BJP MP Varun Gandhi.
